Airwolf Main Themes EP sequel soundtrack RELEASED!
26th September 2009

After many years of hard work, we are delighted to at last announce the long-awaited launch of the 'Airwolf Main Themes EP' ("EP" means "Extended Play") preview soundtrack, which is now available to buy and download directly from our own official Music Downloads Store.

Available in either 320k MP3 or iTunes-friendly 320k AAC (you can make the format choice at the final ordering stage), the four tracks of this DRM-free release -- orchestrated to absolute perfection by Jan Michal Szulew -- gives a flavour of the eventual full-blown 2CD sequel 'Airwolf Extended Themes' (release date: late 2011).

AIRWOLF MAIN THEMES EP TRACKLIST

1.  2nd-3rd Season Closing Main Theme (Extended)   06:00
2.  2nd Season Minimalist Main Theme (Extended)   05:00
3.  1st Season Synth Main Theme (Extended)   06:40
4.  Minimalist Main Theme (Extended)   06:12

These four, extended, synth-based tracks will transport you back to the original high-flying world of the 'Airwolf' Television Series and put you firmly inside the aerial action with ‘Stringfellow Hawke‘ and ‘Dominic Santini‘, against the many airborne adversaries they encountered during the original show's three season run in the mid-1980s.

The high production values of the original 'Airwolf Themes' 2CD Special Limited Edition soundtrack have been bettered via even closer attention-to-detail to the original music and recordings created by original composers, Sylvester Levay and Udi Harpaz. Matching original sounds and arrangements were the ultimate, pains-taking goal from the start, but with the added value of releasing the show's Mono music score with modern, Hi-Fi Stereo audio engineering.

OFFICIAL TRAILER MUSIC PROMO VIDEO

We have also released a cool music promo video during late August. Filmed at an original shooting location at Red Rock Canyon, California, it is a modern parody of the first scene from the show's 'Pilot' episode and Hawke's joyride sequence from the 'One Way Express' episode). There's also an additional treat for everyone with the re-appearance of the full-size Airwolf helicopter after 25 years. Watch via our YouTube channel HERE

OFFICIAL EXTENDED TEASER MUSIC VIDEOS

Also on our YouTube channel are extended music teasers showing off a greater range from each track than can be shown from a normal 30-second audio preview. Watch them via our YouTube channel HERE

The vaporware peddlers are finally ready to speak!
December 2008

We can at last reveal that we're about to release the first one of TWO official Airwolf Themes sequels shortly.

AIRWOLF THEMES 2 - downloads-only sequel

The initial Digital-downloads ONLY release will be a global-credit-crunch/Recession beater called 'AIRWOLF MAIN THEMES' EP ("EP" means Extended Play") and it will contain four brand new, Airwolf Main Theme-based tracks by our new Polish orchestrator & associate producer, Jan Michal Szulew.

WHERE, WHEN, WHAT & HOW MUCH

The "EP" should be available before by late September 2009 via our own Airwolf Themes Music Store, and hopefully Apple iTunes and Amazon later. We'll let you know via our Mailing List (if registered) of the exact release dates.

It will cost just GBP £3.96 sterling (or £0.99per DRM-Free track) in our own Store, so hopefully the pirates and thieving Torrent fans will take pity on the hundreds and hundreds of hours' work and personally-funded licensing investment it has taken thus far and pass us by.

AIRWOLF THEMES 3 - 2CD sequel

We've been working on a dual-release strategy for a while now simply because the bigger CD-based release, 'AIRWOLF EXTENDED THEMES' has been constantly evolving. The latter will be a premium-priced 2CD Special Limited Edition ONLY (and will not be available for digital downloads - at least not for a long time - so save up your shekels!), CD1 will be by Jan Michal Szulew and will only contain multiple, varied tracks of the Airwolf Main Theme that the Wolf Pack have requested; Special Bonus CD2 will contain further episodic tracks by Mark J.Cairns.

All being well we hope to have Udi Harpaz' full (very cool) interview as a 20-page Cover Booklet, just like Sylvester Levay’s on the original 2CD set, so it all comes full circle. We hope to release that in late 2010/2011.

Re-Release Digitally Remastering
4th July 2007

Mark J.Cairns has decided to wait another two weeks and re-master the whole of Airwolf Themes at the last minute, fixing a few problems with the original that have bugged him and enhancing/improving a few other tracks while he’s at it. A benefit is that he’ll be able to produce 24-bit 96Khz digital masters for optimum sound-quality and a great starting point for the down-sampling to the 16-bit world of AAC and MP3.

The digital remastering is taking place at Einstein Studios in Antrim which was a great feeling (after 8 years) to be working alongside his buddy and sound engineer, Frankie McClay again. The great thing is that the digital technology is so mature nowadays compared to its infancy back in 1999 when they produced Airwolf Themes with analogue 24-track 1" tape technology. Mark thought if he didn’t do it now -- via this second chance with iTunes -- that he'd never get the chance again and would always regret it.

Mark will be returning to the studio over the coming few weeks to finish it and pass the masters over to 7Digital and Apple. Five tracks have already been re-mixed at the start of July, including – as an example - fixing the many problems he had with his least-favourite track (technically) 'DESPERATE MONDAY'.

“We did a few things to totally transform it and it now sounds wonderful, both aesthetically and acoustically. It’s amazing what one can do with audio nowadays,” Mark concluded.

The tracks being Remixed are:

01 - Main Theme -- 3rd Season Opening titles
05 - DESPERATE MONDAY
12 - HX1
18 - Main Theme -- 1st Season Closing titles
22 - Main Theme -- 2nd/3rd Season Closing titles

Airwolf Main Themes EP Orchestrator and Associate Producer, Jan Michal Szulew

New orchestrator joins
AIRWOLF THEMES Sequel project
May 2007

After a long delay, original Airwolf Themes producer, Mark J.Cairns is delighted to announce a new 2007 addition to the Airwolf Themes team, Polish-born musician JAN MICHAL SZULEW (photo above left).

Like Mark, Jan Michal is a long-time Airwolf fan and knows the show's music inside-out.

"Jan will be taking the primary seat up front as the musician's role in the project from 2007 onwards, allowing me to take a back seat and drive the project forward at last in a purely Producing role," Mark said.

"The fantastic thing about Jan is the minute attention-to-detail that he strives for, perfectly emulating the high production values I insisted on with the original Airwolf Themes 2CD soundtrack. I really feel people will be blown away by the fresh and original approach we've developed. But more about that at a later time," he concluded."
