Airwolf Themes news and latest updates from the high-flying music MP3 world of theme tune soundtracks and music scores
This is the latest news for the official release of the Airwolf soundtrack on our own, small, independent music label. It was created by music artists: original series composer, Sylvester Levay, and Producer & SuperFan, Mark J.Cairns, as well as Orchestrator & Associate Producer, Jan Michal Szulew. You aren't paying into a major label's or organisation's coffers so please don't pirate our independent music release, which has taken many years of hard work, thousands of hours actually, plus personal finance to create to fruition for fans to enjoy.
Available now are the original 'Airwolf Themes' 2CD Special Limited Edition Soundtrack, which has been digitally remastered for the Apple iPod era, plus the sequel Preview release by Jan Michal Szulew - 'Airwolf Main Themes EP'. The latter is a preview release only for the next, full 2CD sequel music soundtrack called 'Airwolf Extended Themes' 2CD Special Limited Edition.
It can be downloaded in top quality 320k MP3 or 320k AAC (for Apple iPods/Apple iPhones/Apple iPads) torrents and we have concentrated on the original three CBS seasons' music from 1984-1986 inclusive with all our music soundtrack releases. The Canadian 4th Season music is not included here, but there are two Canadian tracks (including the 4th Season Main Theme Tune music score by Rick Patterson) available on Amazon from another label.
But it is the amazing music on the TV series is what has stayed with the show's fans to this day and especially the memorable main theme tune used in both the opening and closing title sequences and during the aerial battle sequences between the real-life aircraft used on the series, which to many people nowadays symbolizes anything and everything to do with helicopters! Just look how many videos and radio-controlled aircraft including helicopters there are on YouTube.
What we feel has made the episodic music so different to other peer television shows of its day like 'Knight Rider' or 'The A-Team' was that both original composers, Sylvester Levay and Udi Harpaz utilized a more "tune-of-the-week" approach to their episodic scoring for the TV series rather than the bland, background, orchestral score traditional to shows of the 1970s + 1980s by their contemporaries, that today are very difficult to listen to in their own right without all the dialogue, visuals and foley sound effects layered on top. The show's legacy is that the music stands out, especially the iconic Main Theme Tune music simply due to that same tune-of-the-week approach which transports you to specific scenes, in specific locations, in specific episodes, from specific seasons of the TV show, giving a very unique quality and selling point that makes the collection of Airwolf Themes such an enjoyable escape to both synthesizer and orchestral music aficionados.
The original 2CD Special Limited Edition soundtrack was created over a five year period by Producer and Superfan, Northern Ireland-based graphic designer, Mark J. Cairns, in collaboration with original composer Sylvester Levay, with a Foreword by the series' creator, Donald P. Bellisario (Tales Of The Gold Monkey, Magnum P.I., Quantum Leap, J.A.G., N.C.I.S.). The soundtrack project have also brought on board Poland-based Orchestrator & Associate Producer, Jan Michal Szulew to create many different variations of the Airwolf theme tune, for both the 'Main Themes EP' 4-track preview sequel, and the full 2CD 'Extended Themes' release and official follow-up.
