-Platinum- recording! The real deal; I'm almost as excited about the finished product as when I bought my GODSMACK CD (10 years of GODSMACK), heard 'Voodoo' on the radio & finally mustered 'I' gotta get this on CD to kill the suspense! The 'ext.' theme song to AIRWOLF just kills me(when the lady's in a dogfight)....... thanks

Is it an extended version of that softer main theme that was used mid-season?

It's similar to track 01 from EP, but it has different structure and slightly different arrangement. Some ideas from that didn't make it into 01 were incorporated. It has an "aerial" feeling in a sense of how it is edited. It was originally meant to incorporate some features of Udi Harpaz renditions, but it evolved into something different and Udi has a dedicated track now.

2) That 3rd Season Alternate theme.... that's not that "Birds of Paradise" aerial is it?

No, it's not.

I've had some episodic tracks sitting there spare for a while that were done a few years ago but haven't touched since.

Decided to dust off Udi's "THE HORN OF PLENTY" and add it to CD2 tracklist today from the reserve bench. Track orders will change around in lieu. Hopefully there's enough room for it without taking CD2 over safe 74 mins.

Engineering begins Monday... we'll see.

Jan's getting on tremendously with his tracks.

I come here and I click and I find that the one track that I've prayed for will be there. The orchestral theme from the sand dune chase, with Gabrielle's Theme, which is one of my two or three favorite scenes of any TV show or film I've ever seen.

I couldn't be happier, or more grateful, to get the news and now it's just a matter of waiting for the first day of pre-orders.

Mark, Jan... thank you so much.

As a footnote... I'm a Street Hawk fan too. Like Tangerine Dream too. So I'm interested to see how that plays out.

CONFESSION: Knight Rider and Airwolf are my top two of all-time. Between these projects and the Knight Rider releases from Don Peake (which there needs to be more of), it's nice.

We'll do our very best with it.

It'll be the VERY LAST track completed in the end.

Hey I like the list. cant wait for the pilot tracks, tv & movie versions.

Will the scores from the summer palace be included i.e. hawke & dom arrival at palace and later when they steal back airwolf?

also the end credits?

Gimme machine guns and the ADF pod - a fancy weapons panel, right rear . Guns 1 & 2, Set! God in Heaven - Yeah :-)

Then you're in for a real treat, because there will be actually a little more than the pre-production tracklist indicates and more than I initially imagined.

Arrival - no, stealing back Airwolf - yes.

I'm sure glad that "Half Pint" made the cut! I LOVE that music when him and Hawke are around the grave site.

I think I completely nailed it too, and last week in sound engineering we made it so much better. I think you'll be very happy with the final result.

You know, it's actually a scene that shows how good a young actor, the late Roland Harrah III was, and his performance during this scene alone with Jan was so on the money, that Jan had to up his game. I've obviously played it back so many dozens (if not hundreds of times now) so know every nuance of their performance off each other.

Jan will be putting up some teasers very soon. It'll be another few months before I can do mine as I haven't finished engineering some of the tracks yet.

Jan will be posting teasers first via his new Blog:

The tracklist looks amazing (and sounds amazing from the previews). Can't wait until it's released!

I'm curious about what happens at this stage of development. I see that this run is of 2000 units which is up from the original. Just wondering what made you guys come up with this number? I know for the major soundtrack labels with limited releases they state the cause as being it's set in the contract between any combination of the musician's union, the studios, the copyright owners of the original source material, etc. that limit it to however many copies the run ends up being. Does Universal dictate how many copies you decide to press here? Any other red tape you guys run into?

Bill,

The best things come to those who wait.

Try Jan's blog. He has three teaser tracks uploaded. Believe me they sound even better than the original TV broadcasts!

Best wishes,

Greg

Heard 2 of the three tracks on my dell thru headphones. Now, considering my new state-of-the-art entertainment center I built for scratch & my VHS collection of 'AIRWOLF' videos,, sounds GOOD! After I read mag. issue #4, I played Shadow of the Hawk again to see if my perspective would change, NO! In fact, a renewed sense of urgency in getting back to business. IF that makes any sense...

Thanks Greg. But nothing posted there about the overall progress of the project. I was just wondering if if everything was/is still on track for the projected Spring release.

Ok Bill,

That's fair enough, let's hope that everything is still on track for a Spring release. What do you reckon Mark?
