Hi guys, I just wanted to ask some basic questions regarding the second release of Airwolf themes. 1. What are your goals and aims for the second release? 2. What percentage of total Airwolf score are you looking to target for Themes 2 CD? 3. Are you guys considering including season 4 theme on it, maybe as a bonus? 4. Have you guys started working on it in one form or another? On side note, I know you guys release officially licensed soundtracks, because we're purchasing these: so my question is where does our money go? Who benefits from it? I'd really appreciate if you could answer these in the best way you can, especially about Themes 2 since I know you guys like to keep things hush hush . Thank you.

1) To make it the best it can be?! 2) Huh? 3) Probably/hopefully, yes. 4) Yes
Money goes into licensing, production values, production, marketing, packaging & shipping, other normal business costs etc.

Alright, so we won't see any new rendition of music previously released on Themes 1 CD, you guys pretty much covered some of the best tracks there.
And by Jan doing main themes, you mean like aerial battles or intro music etc etc? Well, the Main Themes, let's be blunt, are absolutely the most important aspect. As far as I am (and the vast majority of folks who are buying Airwolf Themes are) concerned, it's the aerials etc. that are really all that matters. That's what sells and that's what folks are truly interested in. The episodic stuff is just a bonus. There are about 6-7 episodic themes that I defo want to tackle such as Udi's brilliant "AIRWOLF II", Sly's "AND THEY ARE US", "SINS OF THE PAST', 'PROOF THROUGH THE NIGHT' (Poluske Polje) etc. 'PILOT' (Blaze' joyride), you know the big (longer) suites that are interesting to listen to (on their own) and that I didn't have room for the first time. I'm just not interested in doing cues that you can't listen to on their own, without visuals, FX & dialogue to back them up. They have to stand alone which is why I'll not be doing every last little cue that exists in the series that just wouldn't work on their own. I'm sure you can guess the last few yourself.

So Mark, will CD2 on the sequel album, just be bonus tracks not included on AWT1? Or will you be trying to make a full album for CD2? Like CD1 is Jan's full Main Themes, and CD2 is a full episodic score CD?
'Airwolf Main Themes EP', best album of 2009?
...oh hell yeah!

CD1 will be Jan, CD2 will be myself only and should be along the same lines as my original CD1 on Airwolf Themes, just not as many tracks this time.

Nothing really at the moment as far as AWT (Jan and I are up to the eyeballs in our respective real-life work at the mo), however in-between when I personally get a chance with AWT work I'm also working on another exciting wee Airwolf project with Clark Van Hoten & Tom 'Chairwolf' Higginson as well. Can you give us maybe a small clue as to what it is Mark?

CD1 will be Jan, CD2 will be myself only and should be along the same lines as my original CD1 on Airwolf Themes, just not as many tracks this time. You know how you want to tackle 'AIRWOLF II' and 'AND THEY ARE US'? These combined orchestra with synthesizer; without a real orchestra, is a keyboard/computer-adapted symphony orchestra really going to sound decent? What's the reason for not having as many tracks on CD2 as the original CD1? There's some fantastic syntheszier-only episodic themes that could be done; suites that would work very well on their own, without the "FX and dialouge, etc.", such as 'THE TRUTH ABOUT HOLLY', 'CONDEMNED', 'SANTINI'S MILLIONS', 'THE DEADLY CIRCLE' and 'WHERE HAVE ALL THE CHILDREN GONE?'. Also, since AWT 1 was re-released with technical improvements, could 'ANNIE OAKLEY', 'KINGDOM COME'/'HAWKE'S RUN' and to an extent, 'THE HUNTED', be re-done for AWT 2, since certain harmonies and sounds were incorrect? The others were performed perfectly, and I sincerely mean that, but those three, especially the 3rd Season themes, which are two of my all-time favourites, didn't resemble the originals enough like 'FALLEN ANGEL', 'INN AT THE END OF THE ROAD', 'DISCOVERY', 'MOFFETT'S GHOST/PILOT', 'SHORT WALK TO FREEDOM' and 'SINS OF THE PAST'.
