Since this forum's attracted a fair amount of members, both old and new, and it's always interesting to see which particular pieces of music fans like from the show, which Main Theme renditions and Episodic Themes would you like to see on the next album?

Mark and Jan know which one's I like, so I won't articulate those again, but how's about everyone else?

My all time favourite is, 'Mind Of The Machine'.

'Proof Through The Night' and 'To Snare A Wolf', too many episodic themes to list plus all the beautiful score to the 'Pilot'.

I like AIRWOLF's double( i forget the episode); EP. There's only one 'string'! Just to toss one out there...

Well I'd like to see And They Are Us. Mind of the Machine has been done in the previous album, at least the tune I liked from the episode. I would also like to see Echoes From The Past, it was not done as I expected in the previous release. For example, when the chopper is falling, that is a good piece. Plus, Gabrielle's theme during the "Memories Scene" was extremely well done, that's also the one I would like to see. Also, I don't know whether this theme is another iteration of Eagle's Serenade, but it plays during Airwolf's repair in Bite Of the Jackal, those are the only ones I think that are missing that'll make the Airwolf Theme complete. At least for me. Different iterations of first season's theme wouldn't be bad either, for example the outrunning the MIGs orchestral theme from Proof Through The Night. I'm just a sucker for the 1st season nod.

O, I almost forgot. The Red Star startup theme from The Movie version would be a big plus. I honestly prefer that over the original Pilot version of the music.

The all-time best was Eagle's Serenade/Hawke's Theme. Just the best.

I'm also a big fan of the Season 4 main theme...

'Airwolf Main Themes EP', best album of 2009?

...oh hell yeah!

Gotta admit, I got some guily pleasures on my wishlist. I thought the rendition of the episodic theme from "The Hunted" used in "The Girl Who Fell From The Sky" when Hawke and Lyla/Dawn escape from Steele both times and the fight/battle scene theme music from "Birds of Paradise." Whether or not they'll be seriously considered is beyond me, as they're at the end of Season 3. But, I love those two and would love to hear them done, someday by someone.

I would like to see (hear) the theme in Kingdom Come with Caitlin O'Shannessy starting to fall for Ken Soyer.

Also am interested in seeing the theme in The Truth about Holly also included on Airwolf Themes 2.

Thank you for all your efforts. I have really enjoyed the work that all of you have done to help us get the most out of our Airwolf interests.

Half Pint Main theme.

Final Aerial theme in the episode Sweet Britches. It sounds soo punchy. I love this version of the theme!

It might be a bit late for making suggestions, but I have always loved the music from when the lady pulls out of the lair (can't remember all the specific episodes, but Crossover comes to mind) . Although, it is just that famous sequence over and over for an extended period, so it might just be redundant, but I've always really liked it by itself...

Also speaking of crossover, I've always liked the music from that episode, especially the piece from when String is being chased at the farm.

Take-off from the Lair... covered. Red Star... covered nod

"CROSSOVER"... already seriously thinking about it (music reference rips already done ages ago). One of Udi's best!

Am currently in the middle of doing "AIRWOLF II" suite (which is technically the hardest and probably the longest episodic track of all that will be on my CD2 -- and I had a laugh with - whilst cursing - Udi Harpaz about it a while back; he added so much depth and instrument layering to the orchestration it's a mind-blower and finger-killer all in one). Am very pleased with it so far though. Frankie at Einstein Studios will have his work cut out with it at the final studio stage later in the year as I want it to be a door hinge wrecker.

"THE GIRL WHO FELL FROM THE SKY" music is pretty much a straight lazy lift from "THE HUNTED". I think I did a decent enough job of "THE HUNTED" on the first album to not have to revisit it. The two sections of chase music from 'GIRL' aren't really interesting or long enough to do anything with IMHO. Maybe the drugs' reversal Cold Turkey section of music may be interesting but it's not really long enough to do anything with.

"BIRDS OF PARADISE" Aerial. Mmmm, dunno. Don't think so. It's not really on Jan's list as there are much better versions throughout the CBS seasons that we've picked than Conlan/Scott/Schaeffer's final-ditched, half-assed, knock-it-out-and-let's-go-home effort.

'HALF PINT' Theme is on my own list, yes as I've always liked the character theme. An evolved version of it was used later by Sly in 'THE ANNIHILATOR' TV Movie.

I actually did this with the original set in for Airwolf Themes, but just didn't studio engineer it in the end as I had to make a choice to fit everything in to under max 74 mins on a CD.

If I take it out of mothballs, it all depends how realistic a sample of a cello I can get at Frankie's studio now a decade on, now that everything has gone purely digital. I certainly put a lot of work into the performance as the arrangement I did is the cello solo mixed with the synth version when they're fixing the tail rotor in 'BITE OF THE JACKAL'.

The one I have always wanted to hear is that little short piece from the Pilot trailer, but you guys already said its unlikely due to too much noise. Still if you guys can guess on it later on, that would be great smile. In terms of the main themes, I would like to hear the battle theme from Echoes episode. O and there is one more short piece that is much desired on my part, that little music that plays in Bite of the Jackal when they are repairing the rotors. It sounds like a variation of Eagle's Serenade, but whatever it is, its great.

However, I am curious as to which version of Red Star have you guys covered? Pilot or Movie, I know the test run music is in the EP Themes, but I'm talking about the startup. Both will be awesome though laugh.

Nice. Honestly, I like both equally, although I have to admit that Pilot has a nice gradual buildup when Airwolf starts up. So did you guys try to tackle that little Pilot trailer music, listening to it many times it seems like its similar to the ending theme of Daddy's Gone Huntin' and Bit of the Jackal. Although, I think you guys have covered pretty much every desirable piece of music.

Thanks for pointing that out, Mark. I missed that line. Now I'm completely happy smile.

Best of Luck to you both. I hope you guys get time to release it by the end of this year thumbs

I hope the Firestorm part of the track will specifically include the sequence that's playing during the opening scene where they're testing out Santini's chopper doing those 360 stunts & flying backwards. It's in a completely different mood from the typical variations on the theme. I'd LOVE that!

Mark,

How about Random Target Theme where Caitlin is being taught how to fly Airwolf by Dominic at the begining of the episode?

Also Mark,

Would it be worth doing a medley of season 4 themes from Blackjack?

Caitlin's Lesson is just a slow Descending Bridge Theme. Possibly, but haven't watched the ep in a while.

Defo NO 4th Season now that it has thankfully been released on its own by another label. CBS Airwolf only lives here. Sly, Udi and Ian's work is all we're interested in.

Okay, I'll think about it. Brannen has a nice character theme in it too. Have to say I always loved the darkness of this episode, one of Virgil Vogel's best directed scripts visually... and the 'Kenneth Langhorn' character is just beautifully acted by Len Birman (that final held shot of him knowing the game was up with all the money flying around him is perfection). The final aerial's a wonderful example of Airwolf being the ultimate Blackbird of Death and Hawke's vengeance.

Mark, could you tell if you have worked in that theme from One Way Express when String is flying Airwolf and pondering about the situation? That is a wonderful piece.

personally a better version of the sandune chase for the pilot would be so awesome i mean one where theres an orchestral undertone to it but with a rock like riff and some snythesiers for different parts like going from the orchestral part to the rock and such also a really long version of all the seasons combined by use of the snythesizer would rock since airwolf would do with a more longer flight music theme for over seas and maybe some of the different music in season 4 other than the regular music i mean theres some really awesome music for the areial dogfights in season 4

You stated 'end of the year' for release date.

Is that just a target, or that an actual possibility barring any unforseen delays?

Just curious, thx.

I aim to be in studio by Sept/Oct, and am currently on target to meet that self-imposed deadline.

Thanks, sounds good.

I just know from the past, and with the original AT release, the addage of - "Expect Delays" - like heavy traffic, is a good attitude to have.

Best of luck on nailing those takes man!

Well, the last one ran over, so I'm sure this one will have its unexpected delays too, but as far as physically creating it now (in 2011), every day adds a little bit more to the product and it is my No.1 creative priority at the moment overall.

I still want to be in Einstein Studios by Sept/Oct no matter what, even if there are delays after that at least I'll have the CD2 tracks in the can.

Just a couple things to re-clarify in the present...

1. Will CD2 be full-length as CD1? Or just like the bonus tracks on CD2 for the original AT?

2. You did say Jan has been finished for awhile right?

Full length yes. Both will probably fill the discs.

I did a tally at the weekend and there could be *up to* (around) 30 tracks this time between the two (I've 15-17 on mine alone), if all of them come out the other side.

Hope to get a Pre-Release Tracklist up soon. Finally.

I'm 95% sure we've got it at present. Jan and I are still talking about finalising 3 of his tracks' content as they've been fluid (the rest are pretty much arranged and most just need engineered again from the arrangement test beds).

I can definitely tell you we dumped his 4th Season Closing Theme (as I suggested back in April) last night even though it was really good (we felt there's no point going up against Rick Patterson's original on Amazon), so this will absolutely be a pure "CBS" Airwolf album. You all know I'm no fan of the Canadian show anyway.

No, Jan isn't finished yet due to intense work commitments, but we're both in a current push to get it done. Sept/Oct 2011 will be the big big push months. I *will* be in engineering at Einstein Studios during that time.

It's honestly probably going to end up that I'll have my lot done before Jan. His CD is more important anyway as it'll purely be Airwolf main themes so the subtlety of that fact enforces we get them right first time.

Was working on the "bonuses" at the weekend too. Started the 20pp CD booklet too. Think you'll all like.

Wow, that's amazing Mark. Seriously. I mean it's kind of amazing you have two full discs, ideally, and didn't even tap into the 4th Season at all.

That's really amazing actually. By the time it's all said and done, the whole thing might end up being a chronicle of the true pure CBS Airwolf years, musically, regardless of me entertaining Season 4.

It'd still be nice if Jan/Your Season 4 Main Theme "leaked" maybe in demo form, just to see what the take sounded like, even if it's not on the final album just for Airwolf geek completist sake.

But still, like friggin' WHOA dude. I was expecting a WAY too main theme dominate set. My biggest issue was I never agreed with the fans on that. The shining achievement on the first album was your episodic suites, but it's like super-great news to hear that the episodic suites will get the full-album treatment.

Cool cool news man. Thx again for the insight, very much looking forward to it even more now!

Hey I have a few, although they are prob mentioned already in some form.

1. Pilot ep - trailer and music when dom and string arrive at Summer Palace climbing over wall and movie version of Red Star Control.
2. Start up in lair, there been a few mostly 2nd/3rd season, one with kate comes to mind in break in at santa paulo ? Also when hawke and dom are going to lair in episode proof through the night.
3. Mad over miami when hawke is flying in hurricane - (at mo sounds like minimalist main theme on EP)
4. Snare a wolf - music when hawke turbos on land from boggard.

just a few to think about lol

Gimme machine guns and the ADF pod - a fancy weapons panel, right rear . Guns 1 & 2, Set! God in Heaven - Yeah :-)
